Taqsim Labs Inc. was founded on the belief that SWANA musical traditions — their intricate Maqams, microtonal subtleties, and emotional depth — deserve a place in the modern world. Technology is our instrument.
Our apps are designed for musicians, students, and curious listeners who want to build a genuine ear for music that most of the world has never been taught to hear.
Each app tackles a different corner of musical education — starting with Maqam ear training.
An ear training app built specifically for the Maqam — the soul of SWANA music. Through progressive exercises and interactive games, Bonjour Maqami trains you to recognize the emotional colour and modal character of Maqams from across the SWANA world. No theory required: just listen, respond, and build a genuine musical ear one session at a time.
We are currently developing the app and plan to launch on iOS and Android in the near future. It starts with 8 Maqams — carefully chosen as a first step into this vast tradition — with many more to follow.
